My digital art for sale begins with a spontaneous gesture — more instinct than intention. Each piece starts with a single, unplanned line, from which the image gradually unfolds. I don’t plan what will appear; I follow the rhythm of the drawing, letting it reveal itself to me. Often, it feels like a landscape drawn from the interior — a subconscious terrain that surprises even me.
This series is created using Adobe Fresco, a digital medium that supports improvisation and emotional immediacy. The results are often ambiguous, puzzle-like images — surreal and layered, open to interpretation.
I draw deep inspiration from nature. When I look at the sky, it often seems as though the clouds are telling me a story — shifting forms that bring new figures into focus with every passing moment. Sometimes they feel so vivid, it’s hard to tell whether it’s me shaping them or they shaping me. I also spend time observing the rocks in the mountains where I live, seeing an incredible array of hidden figures and creatures. These natural impressions flow unconsciously into my work and form the visual language of Michael Thalmann art.
As a Swiss NFT artist, I also create a parallel body of video-based digital works combining my visual art with original piano compositions.
You can purchase open edition prints of my digital artworks on Saatchi Art, a curated platform for contemporary and digital artists. Clicking on any image will take you directly to the corresponding piece.
